So we draft a ready-to-send letter to your municipality, built from what your place actually is — you send it, upload the reply, and the listing earns the «Cleared with the municipality» mark. Tax in Norway
Short-term letting tied to your own home is tax-free up to NOK 10,000 per year; above that, 85% of the excess counts as taxable capital income. Letting bare land, or letting as a business, is assessed differently. Platforms report rental income to the tax authority, and you'll get an annual statement from us. Always check skatteetaten.no for your situation.
Tax in Sweden
When letting a private residence you have a standard deduction of SEK 40,000 per year before anything is taxed; the excess is taxed as capital income. Platforms report to Skatteverket under the EU rules (DAC7). Check skatteverket.se for your situation.
Tax in Finland
Rental income is taxed as capital income (30%, 34% above the threshold), with deductions for costs tied to the letting. Platforms report to Vero under the EU rules (DAC7). Check vero.fi for your situation.
Insurance and liability
Tell your insurer that you're letting out a pitch — most home, contents and farm policies include liability cover, but short-term letting must be declared for it to apply. The guest's motorhome is covered by the guest's own insurance. Damage and disputes are documented in the app, and AirCamp helps with the dialogue.
Farms and agricultural property
If you run a farm, letting on the yard may count as part of your business rather than as tax-free letting tied to your own home — it depends on how the property and operation are organised. We cannot answer that for you: take it to your accountant before you list. It is one question and takes five minutes.
What do you keep?
Example: 20 nights at 350 kr = 7,000 kr. AirCamp takes 15% (1,050 kr) and 5,950 kr is paid out to your account after the stays. During the launch period the commission is 0 — you keep everything.

Frequently asked questions
Can I rent out space on my own land?
Your municipality decides, property by property — there is no national threshold at which a few pitches become a campsite, and the Norwegian ministry has said that using private property for motorhome pitches must be clarified with the municipality. What applies depends on how the land is zoned. We give you a ready-written enquiry to send them, and we cap listings at three pitches per property. Responsibility for your address stays yours.
What does it cost?
Listing your pitch requires no subscription and no setup fee. When payments are switched on, AirCamp takes a 15% commission on the base price and guests pay a 5% service fee on top. No booking, no cost.
How do I get paid?
In the beta phase payments and payouts are not open yet. When payments are switched on, guests pay through AirCamp (Vipps, Swish, MobilePay, cards via Stripe), and you connect your account for payout after check-in.
Do I need to be home?
No. You decide how available you want to be — many hosts simply send the gate code and parking instructions automatically.
Do I pay tax on the income?
Rules depend on the country — in Norway, short-term letting tied to your own home is tax-free up to NOK 10,000 a year. See the "Tax, insurance and payout" section above — and always check the tax authority's own pages.
What about insurance if something happens?
Tell your insurer you're letting out a pitch — the liability cover in home/farm policies usually applies, but the letting must be declared. The guest's vehicle is covered by their own insurance.
Can I decline a booking?
Yes. You approve requests yourself, can set house rules (dogs on a lead, quiet after 23:00, max length) and can block dates in the calendar whenever it doesn't suit.
What do I keep?
AirCamp takes 15% of the base price and add-ons — the rest is yours, paid out after the stay. During launch the commission is 0. Example: 20 nights at 350 kr leaves you 5,950 kr after commission.
What does it cost for a Matplass or Pitstop?
The pricing model for Matplass and Pitstop will be published here before payments are switched on — separate from Vertsplass, because what you sell is different. Your food is yours; how the marketplace is priced you will see in black and white before you have to decide.
What happens when payment is switched on?
You get at least 30 days' notice before any payment terms apply to you, and you can delete your listing with one click at any time. No terms are imposed on a listing that is already live.
